Growth Constructors / Capability
CAPABILITY - THE GROWTH ENGINE PROGRAMME
Become the team that finds growth habitually - not the one that reports on it.

A capability programme that reconstructs an insight or analytics function - client-side or agency - around growth: what it's for, what it produces, and the mandate it operates under. Tailored to exactly where your team is, and where it needs to be.
THE REASON NOTHING HAS CHANGED
For a decade the profession has been told to change. No one built the way to do it.
Move upstream. Get commercial. Earn a seat at the table. The case has been made well, repeatedly, for years - and yet insight functions find themselves vulnerable. Not because the ambition was wrong, but because nobody ever built the thing that shows a function exactly how.
There has been no shortage of encouragement, and no shortage of training in research methods or in personal confidence. What has never existed - privately or through any professional body - is a structured way to reconstruct the function itself, upstream. So we built it.
THE GAP
The support has focused on the researcher. Less so on the function.
Everything on offer makes people better researchers - valuable, but not enough on its own. A stronger researcher inside the same mandate* is still briefed in the same place.
*mandate noun
1. Client-side - what your organisation asks, funds and allows you to do.
2. Agency/Supplier - what your client asks, funds and allows you to do.
WHAT THE BODIES TEACH
Research and method craft
Method, rigour, standards. Essential foundations - and increasingly automated at the base.
WHAT COACHES TEACH
Confidence & influence
Stakeholder skills, presence, personal brand. Real value - aimed at the person, not the position they hold.
WHAT NO ONE BUILDS
A reconstructed function
A designed way to move a function upstream - diagnose growth, construct direction, shift the mandate. So we built it.
THE PRINCIPLE
Capability is capped by mandate
You can teach a researcher to think like a strategist. But if their remit only permits them to take orders, nothing moves. This is the half every upskilling effort leaves untouched - and the reason they don't land.
THE PROFESSIONAL
-
Skillset
-
Drivers and motivation
-
Job definition and narrative
What you are able to do.
THE MANDATE
-
What you are asked, funded and allowed to deliver
-
The role you are permitted to take
-
Your place in the hierarchy
What you are able to do.
Reconstruction happens where a bigger capability meets a bigger mandate. Move one without the other and you get frustration, or theatre. We develop the person and renegotiate the role together - then embed it as habit.
WHO IS THE GROWTH ENGINE PROGRAMME FOR
Two sides of the same table. The same answer.
Client-side, agency-side - all part of the same value chain. And client-side functions are staffed largely by people the agencies trained - so both feel the same vulnerability, and both hold part of the same answer.
The programme is built for either.
CLIENT-SIDE INSIGHT FUNCTIONS
From cost centre to growth engine
Move from a service desk answering briefs to the function that frames the question and directs the bet - earning the remit, funding and access to operate upstream.
-
Reposition the function around growth, not reporting
-
Build the commercial and directional capability leaders reward
-
Renegotiate the mandate internally, deliberately
AGENCIES & SUPPLIERS
From vendor on the roster to advisor in the room
Escape the commoditising middle. Build the capability that commands strategic mandates and strategic fees - and, by changing what you teach juniors, shape the whole sector's direction
-
Move up the value chain, defensibly against automation
-
Win retained, higher-value, growth-directing engagements
-
Turn a wide client portfolio into a practice range
THE PROGRAMME
Tailored and assembled to your team - not sold off a shelf.
No two insight teams are the same. Yours has its own maturity, its own mandate, its own mix of strengths and gaps. So we don't sell you a course. We build you a programme - constructed around three fundamentals.
01
Your maturity
Order-taker or established partner - the right starting point is different for each, and we begin where you actually are.
02
Your mandate
What you're allowed and funded to do shapes what's worth building - and how far, and how fast, we move it
03
Your skills mix
Your existing strengths mean you shouldn't pay to learn what you already have. We build only for the gaps.
THE SHIFT
What a reconstructed function looks like.
Not a better version of the function you have. A different one.
Order-taker → Strategy shaper, upstream of the question
Vendor on the roster → Advisor in the room
Answering the brief → Framing the question before it's written
Describing what exists → Directing what should exist next
Findings that still need translating → Actions with a commercial spine
AI as a threat → An opportunity that frees time for upstream work
Commoditised and procured on rate card → Premium, retained and defensible
